The La India property forms the primary focus for Grayd
Resources production growth, with a target for a multimillion ounce open pit
gold operation and excellent potential to increase resources.
Project Highlights
The La India is located in Sonora, Mexico with a
project area covering 263 square kilometers approximately 7km northwest of
Alamos Gold’s +3 million oz Mulatos Mine. Continuous drilling of over 55,000
metres has taken place at the La India Project since 2007 resulting in over 80% of
oxide material consisting of a low strip ratio. In May 2010 the project was
expanded to include measured and indicated resources of 760,000 ounces (26.8
million tonnes at a grade of 0.88g/t Au) and inferred resources of 506,000
ounces (19.7 million tonnes at a grade of 0.8g/t Au). Based on results of
recent tests, an average gold recovery in the range of 80% to 84% is indicated
for a heap leach processing operation at La India.
The Tarachi property is located 1.5km North of the La India
Project and covers 1553 hectares and has a target for an epithermal gold
deposit amendable to open pit mining and heap leaching.
Project Highlights
The Tarachi property contains rock types and alteration
similar to those seen at la India and at Alamos Gold’s multi-million ounce
Mulatos Mine with classic epithermal geological setting and mineralization. Drilling
is currently underway on the project to follow up on the first ten holes drilled,
which intersected a large zone of mineralization. All holes intersected
mineralization with results including DDH-101-149, which had 88 metres grading
+1.5 g/t Au within a longer intersection of 191 metres grading 0.85 g/t Au.
